Abstract

A differential wide-band line driver for transformer-coupled cables is presented. Implementation in a 0.18μm CMOS process, its -3dB bandwidth is 130MHz. The new line driver consumes 60mW of static power from a 2.5V supply. Its total power driving 75Ωload is 130mW. 130mW from a 2.5V supply. The device drives a 75 Ωload, while achieves a -51.0dB THD with a 2.5 V p-p 5MHz signal on load. The THD is -48.9dB for a 2.5Vp-p 10MHz output signal. The area for the device is less than 0.1mm2.
