Abstract

We aim to improve magnetizing efficiency while maintaining the trapped magnetic field of REBCO bulk magnet excited by pulsed-field magnetization (PFM). In PFM, a soft-iron yoke is generally used in order to exposing the bulk to as much magnetic field as possible, and we investigate an influence of the shape and size of the yoke on the trapped field performance experimentally. In this paper, we performed numerical analysis using the 3D simulation model based on our PFM experimental system, and estimated the magnetizing characteristics when using the disk-, ring- and cross-shaped yokes. The analysis results showed the same tendency as the experimental results.
