Abstract

Effectively targeting under-prepared students is a challenge in academic courses. In this paper, an adaptive tutoring system for calculus "JCALC" and its mechanism for adaptation are introduced. Then practical experiments using JCALC are conducted and effectiveness of use of JCALC for under-prepared students is shown.
