BIAS MAGNETIC FIELD DEPENDENCE OF RF PERMEABILITY IN THIN PERMALLOY FILMS.

Abstract

The dependence of the RF permeability ( mu //R//F equals mu //R//F - j mu //R//F) on a bias magnetic field H (corresponding to a signal field) in a permalloy film, when H and RF exciting magnetic fields are in the direction of the hard axis, was analyzed with the film taken as a single domain, the demagnetizing field in the film plane taken as 0, H//R//F assumed to be sufficiently small compared with the anisotropic field, and H is assumed to be static. It was found that the mu //R//F change is sharp at omega less than omega K ( omega beta equals ferromagnetic resonance frequency at H equals O) and the mu //R//F change is sharp at omega approximately equals omega K.
