Abstract

This paper compares SPMSM and IPMSM under high flux density condition. Both machines use same stator construction and same rotor geometry, also have similar open circuit voltages. No load characteristics which include iron loss are compared and output power characteristics which include efficiency and iron, eddy current loss are described.
