Abstract
Detailed measurements of magnetic penetration into the welded YBCO bulk materials were performed by means of magneto-optical techniques. We compared the current distribution in two kinds of the welded joints with controlled crystallographic surfaces: the (1 1 0)/(1 1 0) joint and the (1 0 0)/(1 0 0) joint. It was found that the connectivity of the (1 1 0)/(1 1 0) was superior to that of the (1 0 0)/(1 0 0) joint.
