Abstract
In mobile communication systems, signals are transmitted and received by a mobile station by means of antennas mounted on mobile units. If signals are transmitted and received by one antenna element, a diplexer is required. If two antenna elements are used, one is connected to the transmitter and the other is connected to the receiver. Antennas are placed adjacent to each other in the system. Therefore, a filter is required to reduce mutual coupling between receiver and transmitter. The coupling causes receiver saturation or interference. A method is presented for reducing mutual coupling by means of a simple lossless network consisting of coupled lines.
