Design of dispersion managed fiber and its FWM suppression performance

Abstract

The four-wave mixing (FWM) suppression performance of dispersion managed fiber (DMF) is presented. The proposed DMF design suppresses FWM effectively, which is experimentally confirmed in a 4×10 Gb/s wavelength division multiplexed (WDM) transmission system. These results show that the DMF will be useful for constructing WDM transmission lines.
