Abstract
We investigate the problem of matching direct and resolved photon contributions to hard ep scattering at high energies. A suitable subtraction mechanism has to be used in order to avoid double counting, throughout the full range of virtuality of the exchanged photon. We illustrate our procedure of summing direct and resolved photon contributions in the specific case of W+ production at HERA.
