Abstract

Some types of spoke structure permanent magnet vernier machine (PMVM) has been proposed. This paper examined an effect of additional PMs to spoke structure PMVM with flux barriers for torque improvement. As a result, the additional PMs in the stator and the rotor improved the torque by 146% compared to typical spoke-type structure. Furthermore, the magnet arrangement of the flux barrier was also changed for more torque improvement.
