Abstract

The superposition of a ramped AC voltage on a DC bias is proposed and applied to WO3–H2SO4 electrochromic cells. The response limit for upper frequency is evaluated from the frequency dependence of the induced optical density. This AC voltage application is also shown to be effective for prolonging rentention time.
