Abstract

Fully fluorinated coordination complexes, [M(L)2] (M = Cu2+, Pd2+, Pt2+ and L = bis(pentafluorobenzoyl)methanido), show two types of guest recognition events: 1:1 selective recognition of CO2 and metal ion-selective adsorption of small gas molecules such as N2, O2, H2, NO, and CH4, while the corresponding non-fluorinated complexes show no guest encapsulation.
