Abstract
This paper evaluates the effectiveness of movable boundary scheme in circuit and packet switched networks for which dynamic traffic control is applicable. The characteristics of movable boundary (MB) and fixed boundary (FB) schemes are numerically investigated for various numbers of channels and traffic conditions. Two new criteria, (i) improvement in packet delay, and (ii) elimination degree in channels, are proposed for the evaluation of the control schemes.
