Fabrication of ultracompact optical isolator with Si-photonic wire waveguides

Abstract

We have proposed an ultracompact optical isolator with Si-photonic wire waveguides realized by wafer bonding. We fabricate the Si-photonic wire waveguides and estimate the insertion loss of the isolator. Wafer bonding of Ce:YIG/Si is also achieved.
