Abstract
A method for measuring wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) components that uses a lightwave synthesized frequency sweeper is reported. A measurement time of 2 s per channel, a frequency accuracy of ±20 MHz, a resolution of 1 GHz and a dynamic range of 50 dB were simultaneously achieved. Thus, the method will be useful for measuring optical components for very dense WDM networks.
