Fibre parameter dependence of skew in singlemode fibre ribbons

Abstract

The dependence of skew on fibre parameters has been clarified by using singlemode 16 fibre ribbons experimentally. Simple equations for evaluating the skew dependence on the fibre parameters are proposed. We have confirmed the temperature independence of skew for fibres with different fibre parameters in a uniform temperature environment.
