Fuzzy controlled variable blank holding force technique for circular cup deep drawing of aluminum alloy sheet

Abstract

A fuzzy control system is developed to optimize the circular cup deep drawing process with a closed loop control for aluminum alloy sheet. Optimum control based on a fuzzy model is applied to the variable blank holding force (BHF) control technique in order to obtain a uniform wall thickness drawn cup. It is confirmed that the fuzzy BHF control has a great potential to improve dimensional accuracy, reliability and flexibility for various materials, blank sizes and lubricants.
