Abstract

A system study is conducted on a transversal filter ghost canceller to equalize the teletext pulse waveform in receivers. Furthermore, totally digitalized prototype ghost cancellers are constructed on a trial basis. Laboratory and field test results show that the ghost cancellers can equalize teletext signals accompanied by random noise in addition to strong short-delay ghosts or waveform distortion. Moreover, they are able to lower the teletext digital error rate to less than 0. 001.
