High performance OTDR for measuring distributed strain and optical loss

Abstract

We developed a new OTDR for measuring both strain and optical loss distribution along optical fibers by unifying BOTDR and COTDR. The new OTDR is promising not only for low cost optical network maintenance but also for large building diagnostics.
