Abstract
A high-quality frame-synchronizer for video signal switching, freezing, and encryption is proposed. In order to realize the high-quality frame-synchronizer, a novel high-speed and high-definition 11-b A/D (analog-to-digital) converter which achieves a quite high S/N (signal-to-noise) ratio performance of 63 dB (weighted) has been developed. The developed frame-synchronizer provides synchronized video signal switching by field freezing and an encryption/decryption capability by line scrambling over digital frame memories for high-security video signal transmission. Moreover, it adjusts the delay difference of the digitally processed video signal and audio signals.
