Abstract

In recent years, consumer product recall has been increased. Since products are not traced to home, there is no sure method to inform each consumer of specific recall. We investigate the issue of product recall with Quality Function Deployment and propose a network system which supports consumer electronics recalls by connecting recall information servers to a home network system. The system detects the recalled consumer electronics, informs consumer of recall, and controls products for safety. 1.
