Improvement of elevation directivity for ESPAR antennas with finite ground plane

Abstract

The improvement in the elevation pattern for the electronically steerable passive array radiator (ESPAR) antenna using the monopole elements with a circular ground plane was reported. The radiation characteristics of the monopole antenna on a circular plane with and without a skirt was reported. A maximum gain in the horizontal direction was obtained for the 7-element ESPAR antenna with a skirt.
