Influence of hydrogen-gas explosion on peripheral structures - Blast wave characteristics and the response of RC walls subjected to the explosive load

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference contribution

Abstract

Hydrogen is one of the most important new energy in the next generation. However, hydrogen gas has large explosive ability, and the safety measures on facilities should be established. In this research, blast simulation and explosion tests of hydrogen gas were performed, and characteristics of hydrogen gas explosion and nonlinear response of reinforced concrete walls subjected to the explosive load were studied. As the results of these studies, safety countermeasures such as effective design method of protect walls against the blast becomes possible.
