Abstract
The present study involved calculating intensities of resource consumption based on the 2011 Input-Output Table for Japan. The intensities included 11 resources and 393 production sectors. Import resources and products were converted to raw material equivalents, so that the intensities reflected resource consumption in the production country. These intensities enable us to analyze the resource consumption and resource productivity of the Japanese buildings. The results showed that the total resource consumption of buildings was 948 to 1,785 kg/m2 and that the resource productivity of building sectors was 56,000 yen/t.
