Iron loss calculation of pm motor by coupling analysis between magnetic field simulator and control simulator

Abstract

Iron losses generated in PM motors can be estimated by the coupling analysis system between magnetic filed simulator and control simulator. As a result, the eddy current losses in magnets in the benchmark motor with PWM driving become more than 10 times of the result with sinusoidal current.
