Abstract
Validity of Kraus representation in the presence of initial correlations was examined. Results indicated that the joint dynamics was restricted to be locally unitary if the Kraus representation was valid as the reduced dynamics in the presence of any initial correlation. Kraus representation was shown to be compatible with the existence of any initial correlation only when the joint dynamics was locally unitary.
