Abstract

We developed an ex situ method for magnetization of a bulk array with alternate polarities for a full HTS linear actuator by one magnetization process. The linear actuator is composed of primary windings of Bi/Ag sheathed wires and a secondary made of YBCO bulks. The linear actuator is a synchronous type and the secondary is a bulk array with alternate polarities. For practical applications, a simple method for magnetizing the bulk array needs to develop. We demonstrated that the bulk array was alternately polarized by our method. In the paper, the method for the magnetization is explained and the results of the magnetization experiments are presented.
