Abstract

We study in physical behavior of the polyrotaxanes (PRs) having straight chain molecules as side chains grafted to cyclic molecules. These PRs would show a wide variety of high-order structures due to their movable side chains. Therefore we synthesize the PRs with alkyl oligoethylene glycols as side chains grafted to cyclodextrins and investigate their structural and conformational behavior in solution and on solid surface under various conditions. polyrotaxane / block copolymer / cyclodextrin / stimuli-response.
