New trend of motor technology for automobiles - Introduction and overview

Abstract

This paper summarizes a new trend of motor technologies including the materials, the control techniques, motor concurrent design, rare earth free motors and variable flux motors, which have been investigated by the technical R&D committee of vehicle motors in IEEJ-IAS. The activities of the committee are firstly introduced, the discussed some interesting topic regarding the motor design in the committee are introduced in this paper. The detail of each topic is described in another paper of this conference, this paper briefly discuss about the topic and point out the trend and the future work.
