Abstract

A recently developed ferritic filler metal of chemical compositions similar to the base metal was used in welding test specimens. Two welds of single- and multi-pass were made to investigate the effect of multiple thermal cycles on retained austenite and toughness. The influence of the austenite on toughness is discussed in detail.
