Abstract

A novel dense-WDM optically repeated transmission system in the zero-dispersion region is presented. Bi-directional unequally spaced channel allocation (B-USCA), FWM induced conjugate light filtering (FICF) and a novel bi-directional optical amplifier (BOA) make this transmission system practical.
