Choice of an appropriate chemical composition in a group of Asite ordered LnBa1-xSrxCo2-xFexO 5+δ (Ln - selected lanthanides, Y) oxides may allow to obtain novel, potential cathode materials for IT-SOFC having desirable physicochemical properties, which can surpass those of typical Ln1-xSr xCo1-yFeyO3-δ perovskites. Layered ordering in A sublattice (Ln-Ba1-xSrx), resulting from a significant difference between ionic radii, is observed for compounds having smaller Ln cations, even for a substantial substitution of Ba by Sr. Materials with a high Co content exhibit very high mixed ionicelectronic conductivity and substantial deviation from oxygen stoichiometry, while increase of Fe content improves stability and decreases thermal expansion. The observed relationship between structural properties, oxygen nonstoichiometry and transport properties is discussed.
