Abstract
The present paper discusses the performance analysis of a combined power generation system driven with syngas from the coal gasification process. This system consists of a solid oxide fuel cell - gas turbine hybrid system and an exhaust heat power generation (EHPG) system with a steam turbine. The rankine cycle is executed in the EHPG system by using hydrocarbon fluids. The typical compositions of gases obtained from oxygen-blown and air-blown types gasification plants were adopted for fuel in the present investigation. The numerical analysis clarified the effects of the fuel composition caused by the different gasification processes on power generation performance.
