Abstract
Large grain RE-Ba-Cu-O (RE: rare earth elements) materials with large critical current density (Jc) values have significant potential for a variety of engineering applications such as magnetic bearings, flywheel energy storage system, load transport system, and motors. High Jc bulk superconductors can also trap large magnetic fields, which will be used for various novel devices. The present status of bulk applications will be summarized in this article.
