Abstract

The Dual Rotor-Axial Flux Permanent Magnet Vernier Machine (DR-AFPMVM) has low-speed, high-torque characteristics and is suitable for EV drive motors. However, it has a problem of large torque pulsation, which is mostly caused by cogging torque. In this study, several magnet shapes, such as triangular and zigzag shapes, were examined to compare and evaluate the reduction of cogging torque by magnet shape.
