Abstract
Superconducting (Hg,Tl)-O double layer compound samples were prepared by a high-pressure synthesis technique. Some samples have the composition of (Hg0.7,Tl0.3)2Ba2(Ca x,Y1-x)Cu2O8-2δ and are nearly single phase when x=0.1, 0.2, 0.4 and 0.6. The crystal structure of these samples was determined by X-ray Rietveld refinement. On the other hand, several new intergrowth phases were discovered in Y-free Hg(Tl)-Ba-Ca-Cu-O samples by TEM observation. Based on the TEM observation, symmetry and super-lattice parameters for the new phases were determined and structural models were proposed.
