Superconducitivity in the Gd2-x-yLaxCeyCuOz system

Abstract

We report the observation of superconductivity for samples with T′ phase structure in the Gd2-x-yLaxCeyCuOz system. The samples exhibiting superconductivity lie in a limited composition range. Among them, the sample with the composition of Gd0.72La1.15Ce0.13CuOz showed the maximum superconducting onset temperature of about 12 K and the maximum zero resistivity temperature of 6.5 K. The sample was of a single T′ phase with the lattice parameters of a = 0.3969 nm and c = 1.220 nm by X-ray diffraction analysis.
