Electronic raman scattering measurements of single crystals

Abstract

The temperature and polarization dependence of the 2Δ pair breaking peak in the in-plane electronic Raman continuum of MgB2 single crystals was measured. It was possible to identify only one gap feature in the in-plane Raman spectra, and attribute structure below the pair breaking seen in the poorer crystal to surface defects.
