Abstract

We review high-pressure synthesis of homologous layered cuprates and their superconducting properties, in particular, focusing on recently discovered Pb-12(n-1)n and (Hg1-x,Tlx)-22(n-1)n, homologous series. The synthetic way to control the number of CuO2 plane and the way to control the doping level in each member of the series are described. The correlation of structural features of various homologous series with their superconducting properties such as Tc and the irreversibility field is discussed.
