Abstract
The polarized Raman spectra of Zn or Ca doped NdBa2Cu3O7-δ single crystals have been investigated. It was found that the linewidth of Ba mode in Zn doped Nd 1:2:3 is broader than those in pure Nd 1:2:3. This result suggests that the Nd substitution on Ba sites occurred in Zn doped Nd 1:2:3. In x(zz)x̄ geometry the relative intensity of the O(4) mode in Zn doped Nd 1:2:3 is smaller than those in pure or Ca doped Nd 1:2:3. The difference between Zn doped and Ca doped Nd 1:2:3 in the relative intensity of the O(4) mode may be produced by the disordering in the CuO2 plane.
