5-phase double winding PMSM with integrated SiC inverter for In-Wheel Motor

This research proposes a 5-phase double winding Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor with integrated SiC inverter for In-Wheel Motor. By using 5-phase drive, the current value per output power can be reduced and failure safety system is realized. The motor is driven at high speed for application to the in-wheel structure. The motor can realize the variable characteristics by winding changeover technique without configuration circuit topology. This paper reveals that the variable torque characteristics by winding changeover. Furthermore, this paper shows that the proposed motor can realize winding changeover during driving.
