Ambulatory measurement of physiological data using a short-range biotelemetry technique is described. The system consists of a wireless sensor unit for e. c. g. and body temperature including a short-range (within 5 m) commercial FM transmitter; a portable recording unit including a receiver; and a data processing and analyzing. unit utilizing a microcomputer system, the former two units being taken with a subject. The recording unit is divided into two ports; one is for storing e. c. g. R-R interval or A/D-converted body temperature by use of a semiconductor CMOS memory IC(8 kb multiplied by 12), and the other for recording an analog ECG signal or body temperature by a cassette data-recorder. This instrument was sucessfully applied to subjects during outdoor sports such as jogging and running and normal daily activity and work.
