The demand of diving works is very increasing for investigation, construction and maintenance. The environments of them are very severe and dangerous, so the grasping of diving workers' conditions and keeping their safety is a very important issue. Some respiration monitoring sensors were developed for diving workers, but they have a risk of occlusion of the suction tube. Then, we propose a new sensor which is mounted to the expiratory side of the diving mask for the improvement of its safety. In this study, we confirm the effectiveness of the basic performance of the proposed new sensor through experiments.
