CO<inf>2</inf> reduction is the biggest challenge in the world, and the vehicles play an important role. Regulations governing CO<inf>2</inf> emission reduction for vehicles will be tightened in the future. Automotive manufacturers design EVs, PHVs, HEVs, FCVs to meet CO<inf>2</inf> regulation. However, vehicles with the internal combustion engine will continue to retain a large market share in the near future. This report presents recent technology trends in fuel economy for electrical and conventional vehicles.
