Rabi oscillation and corresponding energy level splitting was investigated in single quantum dot exciton states. A spectroscopic method was applied which enabled characterization of a single isolated quantum dot. Quantum wave function interferometry was utilized on the discrete exciton excited state to observe the excitonic population oscillation. The observation of coherent population flopping in a zero-dimensional (0D) excitonic two-level system in a time-domain interferometric measurement was made possible by long coherence of 0D excitonic states.
