The high speed bulk mechanical alloying is proposed as a new methodology of solid-phase synthesis of various exotic materials including non-equilibrium materials. Different from the conventional milling or attriting type mechanical alloying, the present method that is based on the repeated plastic deformation and flow under the hydrostatic pressure, leads to mixing, refining and alloying with higher efficiency and controllability and without contamination. Several binary and tertiary systems are employed to experimentally demonstrate the validity and effectiveness of our recent novel method for bulk mechanical alloying.
