Measurement of acoustic velocity and acoustic attenuation constant distribution in soft tissue by ultrasonic CT

抄録

An experimental data acquisition system for ultrasonic CT is developed. The system displays cross-sectional images representing acoustic velocity distribution and acoustic attenuation constant distribution within a subject. Experiments using a sponge phantom and animal tissues are performed. The attenuation images show high values on the borders of objects because of the wave characteristics such as reflection and refraction of ultrasound.
