N2 - A loop printed on a dielectric substrate and fed from a coaxial line can radiate a circularly polarized wave (CPW) when perturbation segments are used. An advantage of printed loop antenna over a circular patch antenna is its smaller circumference, which makes it suitable for use as an array element. In this paper, the fabrication of an array antenna consisting of 90 loops is described, as well as its characteristics. The radiation pattern showed a half-power beam width of 6.5°. An antenna gain of 27.6 dB was realized at 11.85 GHz, which corresponds to a radiation efficiency of 83%. The gain variation was small and the return loss was less than -21 dB.
