Proposition to improve the performance of routing protocols iFORP-3DD for Drone Ad Hoc Network

Unmanned aerial vehicles such as drones are beginning to be used for a variety of purposes. At present, most of the communication between drones and operating terminals is one-to-one direct communication, and the range where drones can deliver data such as video is limited to the direct reach of radio waves. FANET is one of the ways to solve this problem which consists of terminals that move in the air to form an ad hoc network. There is also DANET, which uses a FANET terminal as a drone. However, existing protocols are not enough to provide sufficient performance in DANET. Therefore, to construct a reliable DANET, we propose the iFORP-3DD, which introduced a function to control the movement of relay terminals in iFORP, and evaluate its communication performance. In this paper, we propose new method in iFORP-3DD operation, the moving speed is not determined from the number of neighboring terminals, but is uniformly turn to zero, and its duration of the operation time is determined instead. Proposed method is implemented on a network simulator and its effectiveness is evaluated.
