N2 - Frequency resolution of adaptive line enhancers (ALEs) to detect multiple sinusoids in noise is defined. It is then shown that detectability of multiple sinusoids is evaluated by the number of real roots of a high-order equation. For sinusoids with equal amplitude a simpler method is proposed. Simulation results are presented to confirm the effectiveness of the proposed methods.
